BUYING
A USED CAR - WHAT TO LOOK OUT FOR - Stirling car
auction
Buying
a car from an auction can save you a lot of money, and a lot of
time. Most vehicles entered into our auctions have a mechanical
warranty, regardless of vehicle age. Because we do all the checking,
negotiating and investigations, you can cut out most steps on the
guide below by going with Scottish Car Auctions!
- Check
out the car’s repair record, maintenance costs, and safety
and mileage ratings in consumer magazines or online.
- Look
up the "blue book" value, and be prepared to negotiate
the price.
- Make
sure all oral promises are written into the Buyers Guide.
- Ask
for the car’s maintenance record from the owner, dealer,
or repair shop.
- Test
the car on hills, motorways, and in stop-and-go traffic.
- Have
the car inspected by a mechanic you hire.
- If
you buy a car "as is," you’ll have to pay for
anything that goes wrong after the sale.
Should
you require more information, please call either Billy or Wille
Ross on the day of sale for a friendly, informative chat.
